Frequently Asked Questions – Public Tours

Do other guests participate in the tours?

Yes. When you book a spot on a public tour it means that you will go with a group of people that have booked their ticket on our website. We will not allow more than a maximum of 15 people on a bike tour and 20 on a walking tour.

Does the tours run if it rains?

Yes, our  tours run no matter how the weather is. So please remember to bring an umbrella or raincoat for the unpredictable Danish weather. On a chilli day you might want to bring an extra sweater too. And some days you will need sunscreen. Remember to wear comfortable shoes.

Anything special I should be aware of?

You should bring a snack or a bottle of water for the tour. There are always toilet options along the routes on all of our tours.

How do I book and pay for a tour?

You book on our website. Select the city, public tour and date. Through the booking process on the website you will pay for your ticket/s for the selected tour. You can pay by credit card and will receive a receipt for your purchase as well as ticket/s for the tour which will have to be brought and shown to the guide before a tour. GBT receives payment for the tour by debit card. We accept the following payment cards: VISA-Dankort, Visa, MasterCard, Visa Electron and Maestro. All amounts are in Euro and are incl. VAT. You can cancel your booking up to 7 days before a tour and receive a full refund (minus a transaction fee of 5 euro per ticket). The refund will be received on your account after 5-10 days. After 7 days before a tour you can no longer cancel the tour or receive a refund for your purchase.

If the cancellation occurs due to force majeure in relation to the Covid19 situation all money will be paid back minus a ticket administration fee of 5 euro per ticket. If cancelled later than 4 days prior to the booked tour the money will not be refunded.

Covid-19 safety precautions

WE follow the restrictions closely in the countries we are present. That means that we always follow recommendations about how many people a group can consist of. In case the number is 10 we only go with 10 persons in one group. We have always hand sanitizer available for guides as well as guests and sanitizer wipes for the bikes when you wish to rent bikes through us. WE keep safety distance at all times and remember we are outside on the tours all the time minimizing infection.

When do I need to book my ticket for a public tour?

Bookings have to be received before the tour. The booking system closes 1,5 days before the tour so don’t wait too long to book. In case you are late for a booking you are always welcome to make a request for a last minute booking by writing to info@greenbiketours.org

How many tickets can I book for one tour?

You can book up to 10 tickets for one tour given there is availability.

Is bike rental included in the tour?

No. Bike rental is not included in the tour. However, we start all bike tours at bike shops where you can rent a bike and helmet yourself. Cargo bikes are also available. The bike tours start and end at the bike shop. In case you want to keep the bike and stay in the city you will arrange that directly with the bike shop.

Where do we meet and end the tour?

On the website (city, public tours) you will find information about where the tour starts and ends among other info. You will find the exact address as well as the address placed on a google maps. You will also find these information in your ticket sent to your email address. A green guide will be waiting for you at the designated place wearing a yellow vest with the GBT logo on. She will be there 15 minutes before tour start.

Are the tours suitable for children or elderly people?

We don’t recommend the tours for children under 15 years of age. Especially the bike tours. Elderly people can participate but should be in good health especially for the bike tours.

Do I need to be in good physical shape to join the bike tours and walking tours?

Our tours are for everyone – both walking tours as well as bike tours. The walking tours are around 4 km. Regarding the bike tours, you should be able to bike for 3 hours and around 15 km. We bike at a comfortable pace and ensure that everyone is able to follow. We don’t recommend our bike tours for beginners as Copenhagen is a bike city and there are many other bikers on the lanes. WE don’t bike all the time as we stop between 11-14 on a bike tour. We don’t guide when we are in motion, only at the stops so you can concentrate on pedaling, on taking in the city and feeling the wind in your hair.
