The sustainable cities of the future
70% of all carbon emissions come from big cities so they are actually key to solving the global climate challenges. Each of these cities is unique in terms of sustainability. Copenhagen will be the world’s first carbon neutral Capital in 2025, Malmö is creating sustainable neighborhoods that are adjusted to the weather of the future and Berlin is a city focusing on liveability with a bottom-up approach rather than a top down which can be seen in the many citizen initiatives around the city.
“We accessed this private tour with another friend who is also in Covid quarantine in Australia! The tour enabled us to escape the confines of our hotel rooms and get to know Malmö and the efforts that the city is making to become environmentally sustainable. We learnt a lot from our knowledgeable guide, Josephine, and were amazed by what has been achieved by Malmö since they began these initiatives – the city that is an example for others to follow. I’m sure that a real tour on real bikes would be wonderful but, for now, this virtual tour is a very successful alternative and one that I would highly recommend. Thank you Josephine and Green Bike Tours and hope to see you in person some day!.”
