While Denmark is slowly opening up again after the pandemic, summer is also fast approaching and with that the season of bathing and fun outdoor activities. Therefore, this week’s #whatson evolves around the many possibilities Copenhagen offer in the bathing arena. Check out the list and get inspired for your next outing! (note that all the harbour bathes except Nordhavn are closed at the moment due to the pandemic).

  • The Copenhagen Harbour bathes:

Copenhagen offers five different harbour bathes located all over Copenhagen:

Islandsbrygge harbour bath is located on Amager and is perfect for a picnic at the sea with the large lawn area and a “pool” for kids in the water.

Kalvebodbrygge is the harbour bath closest to the centre of Copenhagen as it is only a 10 minutes walk from Copenhagen Central station.

Nordhavn’s harbour bath is the only harbour bath which is open at the moment for guests and is placed right next to Nordhavn station.

Sluseholmen havnebadet offers a variety of pools, so the whole family can enjoy the harbour bath.

Fisketorvet harbour bath is located right next to the big shopping mall Fisketorvet. Perfect for a casual dip in the water!

  • Beaches in Copenhagen

Copenhagen also has multiple beaches, if you are more into the beach rather than harbour bathes.

Amager strand is located in Amager and it has its own metro stop in the metro “Amager Strandpark”. The beach is very cosy for a dip in the water or just a stroll along the water.

Svanemølle strand is the beach closets to Copenhagen centre located next to Svanemølle station. The beach is rather small but still a perfect option for an outing to the beach from the centre.
